The Jardins de la Villette offer plenty of entertainment for young and old. Cultural discoveries in the Cité des Sciences, stargazing in the Planetarium, or a balmy evening of open air cinema during the Villette film festival, the possibilities for enjoyment will be many during your stay at the Hotel Molay.
Come and discover the Jardins de la Villette
The Villette is the third largest park in Paris, located on a former industrial site that was transformed in the mid-1980s as part of an urban redevelopment project. With its meadows, lawns, themed gardens, architectural follies and original activities designed for all ages, the park offers the ideal location in which to unwind, whether you are with family, friends or the special one in your life.
Take a walk along the banks of the Ourcq canal and catch some rays on the sun loungers provided.
A veritable city of culture
The park is dotted throughout with areas dedicated to art, culture and education in all forms. There’s the Cité des Sciences, the Zenith concert arena, the Cabaret Sauvage and the Cité de la Musique.
The Cité des Sciences, the largest science museum in Europe, is a real treat for all ages, offering a wide range of attractions and activities, including a superb aquarium and an IMAX theatre. For small children, the Cité des Enfants offers plenty of exciting experiences (foam brick construction, giant anthill, a car repair garage, recording studio, etc.).
A major attraction of the Cité des Sciences that should definitely not be missed is the Planetarium, where incredible 3D images of the heavens are projected onto a huge hemisphere.

Once you have taken advantage of this incredible choice of activities, why not finish the day by attending a movie screening in the open air?
The outdoor film festival that takes place here each year has become an essential part of Parisian summer evenings. Each summer for over 20 years, the park’s triangular meadow has been transformed into the largest outdoor movie theatre to be found anywhere in the capital. To make the experience even better, it’s absolutely free!
This is a unique opportunity to discover or rediscover the masterpieces of cinema and the best releases of recent years on the largest inflatable screen in Europe. All movies are shown in their original languages. You can spread a rug on the grass or hire a deckchair, tuck into a picnic and be transported by the magic of the silver screen.
This year the festival will take place from July 22nd to August 23rd. The programme is not yet finalized at the time of writing, but there’s no doubt it will match the high standards of previous editions.
