Christmas is getting closer day by day and the Hotel Jacques de Molay team has some activities to recommend to you... While the capital is adorned in its festive finery of light, Parisians and visitors alike are busy shopping to find those last little Christmas gifts to put under the tree.
A tour of the Christmas markets
Since mid-November, Christmas markets have been springing up throughout the capital. You’ll have a wonderful time browsing the huge selections of local produce, delicious delicacies, handicrafts, seasonal ornaments and other goods on display in the charming little wooden stalls of the Parisian Christmas markets. The tempting scent of wine spiced with cinnamon will tickle your nostrils and help to get you in the Yuletide mood! The markets also offer various attractions and activities for the whole family.
Ice-skating on the capital’s pop-up rinks
Set up each year on several sites in the City of Light, the city’s pop-up rinks provide plenty of fun for skaters, whether you’re a whizz on the blades or perhaps a bit wobbly. Strap on your skates and glide away for a great time with family or friends. The Grand Palais boasts the largest temporary rink; 3,000 m2! The capital’s highest open-air rinks are located on the Grande Arche and the roof of the Galeries Lafayette, while the one with the greenest setting is in the Jardin des Tuileries, or you can combine shopping and skating under the Canopée des Halles.

Paris offers plenty of shopping choices, whether you prefer smaller shops or the great department stores such as Galeries Lafayette and Printemps Haussmann. These temples of retail combine a vast amount of choice with seasonal entertainment and amazing festive display windows. The Rue de Rivoli and the Left Bank also boast famous stores such as Bon Marché. So many places to find the perfect gifts for those you love!
